Aircell Launches Inflight Internet Seminar Series

Posted on 08 April 2010 by Alan

Aircell, the airborne communications company, based in Orlando, Florida, just launched a new educational series, “Getting Your Business Aircraft Online: The Seminar.”

Planning to stop in multiple cities across the US in 2010; the tour gives business aircraft operators a complete understanding of the latest generation of inflight connectivity.

“There has been a wholesale shift in inflight Internet capabilities for business aviation in the past year — it’s an entirely new landscape.” - Aircell Senior VP, General Manager John Wade

Wade said there is confusion in the market because some providers hype the virtues of a single network or an equipment package. Aircell provides a chance for operators to get a balanced, straightforward overview of the three high-speed data networks available for aviation – Inmarsat SwiftBroadband, Ku-band Satellite and Aircell High Speed Internet. Aircell’s 2010 Inflight Internet Seminar Series provides thta overview, according to Wade.

Although there have been many advances, none of the airborne networks represent everything to everyone, whereas ground-based mobile networks are often very similar, airborne network capabilities can vary drastically. Wade says it is therefore critical for operators to have a clear understanding of what’s available.
